Genital Herpes

It is highly infectious disease and is common as well; Genital herpes is caused by a virus and is transmitted from person to person during sexual activity. It causes blister or the groups of small ulcers on around genital in both women and men. It can't be cured but only controlled. It is extremely widespread and largely due to it is very contagious, where carriers can transmit disease without having symptoms themselves of the active infection. About 50 million of Americans are infected with genital herpes and about one million of new infections every year. Highest rate of infection is seen among poor, especially those having less education and using cocaine, and with sexual partners.

 

Genital herpes is infected through simplex virus of "Herpes" (HSV), and there are 2 types of this virus: HSV-1 and HSV-2. Most common, and many infections are caused due to HSV-2, while HSV-1 is usual cause of most people called "fever blisters" around and in mouth can also be transmitted from one person to another through kissing. HSV-1 can be caused genital through oral sex contact.

 

Genital sores are caused by the virus look same. It is spread by the direct contact with infected person and sexual intercourse, oral sex are most common way of spreading genital herpes.

People having this virus may spread disease even if they don't realize about what infection they have. There is strong evidence that the people with herpes can also transmit infection while disease appears to be inactive and having no sores that can be seen. Signs of genital herpes tend to develop in 3 or 7 days of skin contact between 2 persons with infected person.

 

Infection looks like small ulcer or blister on genital. Each ulcer of blister is typically having only 1 to 3 millimeters in size and ulcer or blister ten to be into grouped, infection of herpes may be painless or tender slightly.
